Category: Audiovisual Performance.
Technique: Live Coding
It is an audiovisual performance that researches and reflects on the different relationships among the sound improvisation and written languages of different types, like: poetic, informatics, symbolic and graphic, all of which come as Live Coding.
In some cases writing is used as an interface for sound production, always extending the vocabulary beyond the instruction that a computer ‘understands’. In other cases, the sounds are the ones that work as an interface for writing a real-time text.
Spanish syntax and grammar are used as a tool we share with the audience to clearly present the creation and reflection processes used by improvisers while everything is taking place.
All episodes of the performance deal with a different correlation between written languages and sound results.
The accumulation of characters, precepts, sentences and paragraphs in the screens that are elaborated by each of the improvisers, act as a footprint or as a memory of the sound gestures occurring during the live performance and constitute a book that is written in the eyes of the spectator.
